Lake Tana Transport Enterprise has officially merged with ESLSE
Lake Tana Transport Enterprise has officially merged with Ethiopian Shipping and Logistics Services Enterprise.
The Ethiopian Shipping and logistics services enterprise and Lake Tana Transport Enterprise made their merger on Nov. 22, 2022, and established the new enterprise named ‘Ethio-Ferries Tana’.
Roba Megersa, CEO of ESLSE, and Abebaw Getu, Administration of Amhara Regional State Public Enterprise, have signed the merger agreement in the presence of H.E Yelkal Kefale (Ph.D.) President of the Amhara Regional State, Mamo Mihretu, CEO of Ethiopian Investment Holdings, Denge Boru, State Minister of Transport & Logistics, and higher regional and federal government officials.
After this merger, ‘Ethio Ferries Tana’ will carry out waterway transport and related activities at the branch office level, under the ‘Ethio Ferries’ business unit that will be set out by Ethiopian Shipping and Logistics Services Enterprise.
At the Merger ceremony that took place in Bahir Dar city, the President of the Amhara Regional State, H.E Yelkal Kefale (Ph.D.) laid the cornerstone for the construction of the ‘Ethio Ferries Tana’s multi-purpose building.
It has been recalled that Lake Tana Transport Enterprise has been serving transportation since its establishment in 1942 E.C.
